Welcome

Welcome to my blog about all things Myrtle Beach. Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Jennifer. I was born and raised in a small town about 60 miles away from the Myrtle Beach area. My family spent a lot of time vacationing in Myrtle Beach--we visited the area multiple times every year--and my love for this city only strengthened with each trip. By the time I graduated from high school, I knew I wanted to make this beautiful beach my home.

I moved to Myrtle Beach in the winter of 2004. I didn't know a soul in the area and learned a lot (about everything) through trial and error. I eventually learned things like...
  • highways to avoid during peak season
  • restaurants that have great food for less $$$
  • which bars are local versus bars that are "tourist traps"
  • the best beach spots (those typically A LOT less crowded than others)
  • the dates for specific "themed weeks" and what type of visitors to expect during those dates
+ SO many other things that one can only learn by living somewhere.

I've watched Myrtle Beach grow at such a rapid pace over the past 10 years. There are more (places to eat, shops to browse, greens to golf, and attractions to see) than ever. My hope is to provide helpful and unbiased information about it all... to both guests and locals alike. (It's also a great excuse for me to get out there and try new things--like new businesses, attractions, restaurants, and events!)
